I would not call myself a religious man. This article explains why.

Belief and the Burden of Proof

The crux of the reason of my lack of faith in any deistic religion is thus:

Over the countless ages, humanity has believed so many false things.

Of course the earth is flat. And the ocean falls off the edge of the world.
Of course the sun revolves around us. Or the universe around the sun.
Of course drilling holes in this guy's head will make him better.
Of course there's nothing smaller than molecules. Or atoms.
Of course Jesus spoke English.

Some of the most interesting things in this world contradict many old beliefs. From personal experience, I can state I have believed in many incorrect things.
